History and Location
Haigazian University’s Accounting and Finance department started its operations with a Business Manager and a cashier. However, with the expansion of the University, the department grew to include additional five staff members. Senior management, vendor’s and personnel offices are located on the first floor of the Mugar building, while the Cashier’s and Student Billing are situated on the first floor of the Phillibossian (Webb) Student Center.
Description
The Accounting & Finance Department’s primary function is to serve the HU community; students, prospective students, faculty staff and vendors with their financial and business needs.
Mission Statement
The Accounting & Finance Department supports the University’s operations in order to create a student-centered environment accessible to individuals of diverse ages, cultures and socio-economic background by taking into consideration the social and economical circumstances of the Lebanese community especially during the last few years.
The Department of Accounting and Finance maintains its high standards of service by continually updating the University’s financial policies and procedures, in addition to maximizing the university’s resources while being professional, effective, efficient and accurate.
The Accounting & Finance Department’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, billing, preparing the statement of fees, cash collection and disbursements, check disbursements, vendor payments, payroll, cash and bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting.
