OR 099

OR 099 is a required course; all new students are required to take it during their first semester in order to graduate from HU. During these OR Days, students will attend sessions on relevant topics such as academics (e.g., advising, teaching, learning, critical thinking etc.), self-awarenessand university counseling (e.g., good communication, diversity management, positive thinking, conflict resolution skills, and physical & mental health), research and library use, IT services (e.g., Blackboard, EBSCO, and BLUE), and HU culture and Alma Mater. Students will also learn useful information and skills related to the habits of the thought process (e.g., the De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats), will find out how to get involved in the non-academic side of University life, and will have a chance to discuss issues of common interest. On the other hand, OR 099, like any other course at HU, has a test and the passing grade on the test will appear on the student’s transcript. Thus, students’participation in all OR 099 sessions during these two days is essential and mandatory.
