Transfer from Recognized Colleges and Universities
Candidates for admission with advanced standing must present an official transcript of all college work. Candidates' academic record will be evaluated by the Academic Standing Committee; however, this is on one condition with the provision that the candidates must meet the requirements for admission to the freshman class of Haigazian University before their admission to the institution from which they are transferring. All transfer students must also pass the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), unless they have successfully completed one year of university work.
Students may receive credit for courses which are considered comparable to the courses offered at Haigazian University. The grades for those courses must be at least 70. No work done at other institutions after admission to Haigazian University will be considered for transfer credit, unless there is approval in advance by the Registrar. Work at the Near East School of Theology, the American University of Beirut, the Lebanese American University, Notre Dame University, and Balamand University can only be given credit at Haigazian University if that work is done in accordance with the regulations for cross-registration at these institutions. Students should ask the Registrar about transfer of credits to their Haigazian University record for work done elsewhere. All arrangements for credit must be completed before taking the course at another institution.
