Computers in the Library

There are four computers in Barsumian, and three in Derian libraries’ reading area with access to the internet and databases. The use of these computers is mainly for searching the library catalog. When not used for this purpose, the computers may be utilized for carrying out personal or academic researches.

All users should abide by the following set of guidelines:

1. HU students, faculty and staff are eligible to use the library computers.
2. Visitors should have the consent of the librarian before using the computers.
3. Users are not allowed to download software, install programs and/or save personal files on the computers.
4. The library owns the right to block any non-academic site or program, such as social networking sites, chatrooms, games, etc.
5. Computers are enabled with floppy disks, CD/RW, and USB.

Wireless computing

Wireless computing is available in almost all parts of the campus. Each active student/faculty/staff may connect to the wireless service. All you need to do is to:

1. Have a wireless network interface card (built-in or external). Only IEEE802.11g and IEEE802.11b cards are supported.
2. Get your laptop configured with the appropriate security settings from the ITS support department.
