On Wednesday, 10 September 2014, new students joining Haigazian University, followed a thorough three-day-orientation program at Haigazian University, a program designed to introduce new students to all aspects of university life, be it academic, communal, spiritual and social, thus, ensuring a smooth transition from school to University life.
A required course in nature, the Orientation Program includes crashed sessions on Academics, Research, Haigazian Culture, Information Technology, Spiritual Life, Time Management, Conflict Resolution, and Self-Awareness, specially designed by a professional team of faculty and administrative staff.
The program kicked off on Wednesday, September 10, with the greeting words and blessings of the new Campus Minister, Rev. Wilbert van Saane, who considered the new bunch of students the essence of hope, for a better country and future.
University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, emphasized on the vital role of Haigazian University in unifying all differences under one project of success, that of Education. Joining a University with a strong heritage, Haidostian further advised students not to rely on the easy instruments of life, and therefore be wise enough to choose the right path.
For her part, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Arda Ekmekji explained to the new recruits the concept of Liberal Arts education, as a system providing students with a complete rounded education. She further invited them to live a life of complete fulfillment through experiencing the Haigazian motto, Truth, Freedom and Service.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Dr. Fadi Asrawi, encouraged students to network with faculty, staff and fellow students. Moreover, Asrawi confidently claimed that Haigazian will prepare them to be the leaders of the future, by endowing them with the best academic knowledge and practical skills.
Registrar Anahid Fermanian provided the students with academic announcements and policies and procedures, after which Alumna Leila Suleiman, shared her experience of University years. Sleiman invited students to be involved in University Life and make the utmost out of their four-year journey.
The opening concluded with Orientation Program Director, Dr. Traboulsi thanking all participants and students assistants for their relentless efforts towards the success of this program.
Over the course of two days, all new comers enjoyed a fellowship brunch with faculty and staff.
