Christmas preparations have already started on campus since early December, filling the air with a twist of joy, happiness, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Faculty, staff and students engaged in activities from decorations, receptions, student parties, gift exchange to holiday plans.
Lounges, main entrances, offices, bulletin boards, buildings and gardens were decorated with light and Christmas trees, creating a genuine festive environment.
Celebrations kicked off with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the Mugar garden, where, staff faculty and friends of the University listened to the message of the University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian.
In his prayer of blessing, Haidostian wished everyone abundant grace, joy and faith. “May our lives, faith and good works decorate Beirut, Mexique and Michel Chiha streets with love and peace,” Haidostian noted.
He concluded his prayer saying, “may Haigazian University radiate the love of the Christ, and may your families and lives shine in a world of darkness and be blessed and become a
blessing to others.
During a solemn and uplifting chapel service, Campus Minister, Rev. Wilbert Van Saane relayed the message of love and gift sharing, whereas Spiritual Life students presented a play for the occasion.
A classical music concert was offered by the Classical Music Club in the courtyard of the University, whereby Christmas classics were played by talented students.
To live the season to the fullest, the Desert Stream and the Dance Club worked towards clothing and toys drive in favor of underprivileged children of two Lebanese organizations.
Truly Christmas is all around at Haigazian University, and what a blessing it is.
