On Thursday the 15th of September, Haigazian University welcomed its incoming undergraduate students for the academic year 2016 – 2017, over a thorough two-day orientation program, especially designed to introduce and facilitate their transition into all aspects of university life.
Considered as a University requirement, and an important “stepping stone” by the Orientation Program Director, Dr. Berge Traboulsi, the program included crashed sessions on academic, research, University culture, information technology, spiritual life, time management, conflict resolution, and self-awareness, all meticulously prepared and monitored by a qualified and dedicated team of faculty and student volunteers.
Students had also the chance to listen to the University deans and senior administrators, who advised them to live their university life to the fullest, through active participation, creative thinking and criticism, tolerance, communication, and networking.
For her part, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Arda Ekmekji explained to the new recruits the concept of Liberal Arts education, as a system providing students with a complete rounded education. She further invited them to live a life of complete fulfillment through experiencing the Haigazian motto, Truth, Freedom and Service.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Dr. Fadi Asrawi, encouraged students to network with faculty, staff and fellow students. Moreover, Asrawi confidently claimed that Haigazian will prepare them to be the leaders of the future, by endowing them with the best academic knowledge and practical skills.
Over the course of two days, all new comers enjoyed a fellowship brunch with faculty and staff.
