“White Dreams”: The Recent Works of Hrazdan at Haigazian University
On Friday, February 11th 2011, the painting exhibition of HrazdanTokmajian opened at the Haigazian University Art Center, the Matossian Gallery. Prominent art critic Chahen Katchadrian from Armenia, the Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Ashod Kotcharian, were among the attendants.
The exhibition featured 26 oil paintings of various sizes in which the color white is prominent. The artist captured the beauty of white dreams in the winter landscapes of Yerevan and other parts of Armenia. The dark, bare trees and houses contrast beautifully with the snowy backdrop and express a sense of peace and simplicity.

Hrazdan Tokmajian was born in Gyumri, Armenia and graduated from the PanosTerlemezyan Arts College in Yerevan. He became a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia in 1988 and he is currently residing in Aleppo, Syria, where he teaches art at the Sarian Academy.He has participated in solo and collective exhibitions in Aleppo, Yerevan, Gyumri, Beirut and Marseille.

“White Dreams” is in course until February 24th, 2011.
