Christmas preparations have already started on campus since early December, filling the air with a twist of joy, happiness, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Faculty, staff and students were involved with Christmas celebrations, engaging in activities from decorations, receptions, student parties, gift exchange to holiday plans.
Lounges, main entrances, offices, bulletin boards, buildings were decorated with light and Christmas trees, creating a genuine festive environment.
After conducting various events and donations towards significant fundraising, the Student Life clubs members paid a visit to the Birds’ Nest Orphanage in the Byblos region. Students’ joy was doubled by distributing gifts to children, thus experiencing the real meaning of Christmas.
A solemn and uplifting chapel service was the right opportunity to gather the whole Haigazian family.
Led by the new Campus Minister, Rev. Bruce Schoup and the Spiritual Life students, the message stressed on the beauty of God’s gift, Jesus Christ, to receive this gift in their heart, to see the world through him and spread it by loving others.
A classical music concert was offered by the Classical Music Club, whereby classical pieces by occidental and oriental composers were played by talented students.
Completing the concert with a bit of Christmas cheer, the audience joined singing along popular Christmas carols.
To sum up all festivities, as an annual tradition, University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian hosted a Christmas reception in honor of the faculty and staff. Guests enjoyed their time congratulating each other, taking souvenir photos, and eating delicious finger foods, sweets and the traditional Buche de Noel.
Haigazian University is one of the unique institutions where one is fortunate enough to really feel, enjoy and experience Christmas.
