Cinema Club
(Founded 1996)

Definition: The Club features all film genres, from the romantic to the socially relevant and the innovative. It organizes weekly movie discussions on directors, scripts, visual effects, and actors and analyzing the pros and cons of the movies students watch.

Objectives: To entertain, educate and give others the chance to know more about movies as an art and as an industry, to improve the critical sense as well as the cinematic taste of the students, to update their cinema information, and to highlight different aspects of human culture through social, cultural, comedic, adventurous, documentary, musical, scientific, historical, and action movies. To produce a film inspired by the current concerns and predicaments of the students.

Guidelines: All sorts of movies that are in concert with the mission of the University are featured at HU.

Past Achievements: Lately the Club bought a 42 inch screen TV, increased its DVD library, featured a variety of thrilling and educational films, and organized its second annual Cinema Knowledge contest.

Upcoming Events: The Club will rent movie theaters, organize movie outings, and produce a movie on university students’ current concerns.
