Dance Club
(Founded 1996)

Definition: A Club where students train with various professional instructors to learn diverse types and styles of dances that culminate in a public performance with a humanistic message.

Objectives: To learn different types of dances, to give a new twist to the students' social life at HU, and to have fun.

Guidelines: Instructors are recruited to teach the dances in collaboration with the Student Resources Coordinator.

Past Achievements: Trained in various styles of dance, organized a dance contest and performed the "Dance 4 Good" in front of an audience of 900 at the Madina Theater, in May 2005. In May 2007 the Club had its second annual public performance. For two consecutive years (2006 and 2007) the Club was awarded the "The Most Popular Activity" (in terms of attendance) prize. In May 2008 the Club held its latest public performance.

Membership: Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to join the Club.

Upcoming Events: The Club will work toward learning more diverse dance styles and involve larger numbers of students to come up with a multicultural set of dances as a further expression of the mission of Student Life.
