Desert Streams Club
(Founded 2001)
Definition: A philanthropic club that plans, organizes and implements charitable activities for the needy.
Objectives: To inspire others toward a better and brighter future by supporting the poor to withstand adversity in their lives with courage and dignity and to show volunteers that through humanitarian deeds one can make a difference.
Membership: All HU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to join, assist and participate in the Club’s activities/events.
Past Achievements: Lately the Club collected clothes and food for the needy, visited old people's homes and orphanages, and renovated a school for the poor in the Shatila area. In 2005/2006 the Club was awarded "The best Activity of the Year" prize.
Upcoming Events: The Club will be planning for another orphans' fair, janitor's day, visits to the needy and other philanthropic activities.
