The Haigazian Herald Club
(Founded 1958)

Definition: The club is in charge of publishing The Haigazian Herald, the university's student newspaper, which comes out four times a year.

Objectives: To act as soundboard for student students; to increase literary interaction among HU students, staff, and faculty; to highlight HU activities; to promote HU; to keep contact between current students and alumni; to create a forum for discussions; and finally, to encourage creativity, especially during the Awards Day at the end of the academic year, where the Best Author, the Most Prolific Writer, the Best Article, the Best Creative Writing Article, the Honorary Best Article, and the Best Cartoonist are recognised and rewarded.

Structure/Membership: The Haigazian Herald Editor-in-Chief fills the chairperson's post. All students, faculty and staff can contribute any articles to the Herald Editorial team for publication consideration whether they are members of The Haigazian Herald staff or not. Articles can be responses to previous articles, concerns, or even creative writing.

Past Achievements: So far, over one hundred issues of The Haigazian Herald have been published. The paper is distributed to the university students, faculty, and staff, to high schools, other universities, NGOs, and friends of HU. The newspaper issues can be accessed online.
