Men's Basketball A & B Teams
Definition: The players represent the male basketball athletes at HU. The teams participate in local and inter-university tournaments and championships.
Objectives: To promote basketball at HU, to organize friendly games, to participate in local and international tournaments, to enhance the players' physical capabilities, to obtain commendable results in inter-university tournaments, to establish contacts with other university basketball teams, and to organize group outings as a means of socializing.
Guidelines: Through try-outs the coach chooses the core players of the teams. Each team practices twice a week and plays a friendly game every third practice session. They also attend physical training sessions in the University's Fitness Center. A player can miss a maximum of 2 practice sessions per month. Students who play in other teams should not miss more than 50% of the practices. A coach supervises and commands the training sessions under the guidance of the Sports Coordinator.
Structure/Membership: Every current male HU student is entitled to join the teams. Teams are composed of around 15 students each.
Past Achievements: Lately the teams played a number of competitive yet friendly games and matches. In AY 2005-2006 & 2006-2007 Team A traveled to France to participate in international tournaments. In AY 2006-2007 Team A participated in the 1st Lebanese Inter-university Basketball League.
