Student of the Year

(Since 1995)

The procedure for the election of the Student of the Year is as follows:

  1. In a special meeting the Clubs and Societies nominate their Clubs'/Societies' candidate/s for the election of the Student of the Year. This nomination is to be made in writing and handed to the SLC by the representatives.
  2. The nominees are interviewed by the SLO, and debated in the SLC, before a final list is recommended and prepared for election.
  3. A bulletin board is provided to each candidate to promote his/her image. There is full coverage of this process in the Haigazian Herald if possible.
  4. All HU current students are entitled to vote.
  5. Election takes place during the last week of Spring Semester. The official result is announced during the Awards Day.
  6. The name of the HU Student of the Year is inscribed on the HU Student of the Year Shield that decorates the entrance of the Philibosian Student Center.
  7. The Student of the Year is entitled to address the HU family during the Founder's Day Convocation. He/she automatically joins in the Town Hall ad hoc Committee.
