Under the patronage of Mrs. Nazek Rafic Hariri, President of the Rafic Hariri Foundation, the “White Rose of Rafic Hariri” was planted in the Mugar Garden of Haigazian University, during a ceremony attended by University President Paul Haidostian, the deans, a number of staff and faculty members and a delegation of students. The Head of Relations of Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the European and French Parliaments, Dr. Rima Tarabay, was there from Paris to represent Mrs. Nazek Hariri.
The “White Rose of Rafic Hariri” is the special initiative undertaken by the late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri’s spouse, Mrs. Nazek Hariri, to pay tribute to Hariri’s unwavering endeavors towards the educational and academic sectors of the country.
“The White Rose of Rafic Hariri is an eternal symbol of peace, purity, compassion and firm belief in the youth, irrespective of confessional affiliations,” said Tarabay.
On this special occasion, President Haidostian expressed his gratitude and appreciation of this initiative, acknowledging Prime Minister Hariri’s instrumental role in investing in the future of the youth through education and higher learning.
It is worth noting that “the White Rose of Rafic Hariri”, is being planted in numerous Lebanese universities, in commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the assassination of the late Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafic Hariri, back in February 2005.
