In support of the Teach for Lebanon (TFL) initiative, Haigazian University has an ongoing Teach for Lebanon Graduate Scholarship Fund. This current fund either fully supports the tuition of one fulltime graduate student, or grants 50% scholarships for two graduate students recommended by Teach For Lebanon.
The renewal of the agreement between the two parties took place on Monday the 13th of February, 2023, by Haigazian University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian and Teach for Lebanon Interim CEO, Mr. George El Assad, in the presence of representatives from the University and the NGO.
Teach For Lebanon (TFL) is a Lebanese NGO whose mission is to ensure that all children in Lebanon, regardless of socioeconomic background, have access to quality education. It employs and trains Lebanon’s most promising graduates, “TFL Fellows”, and places them in schools serving underprivileged refugee and Lebanese children. These Fellows receive on-going training and support to address educational disadvantages by providing transformational teaching that places their students on a path of academic success.
As a partner university, Haigazian has helped Teach For Lebanon throughout the previous years by supporting the special trainings to their “fellows” and putting the University’s facilities at their disposal.
With this renewed agreement between the two parties, Haigazian University will commit itself for the upcoming four academic years ahead, always being true to its core mission of supporting teacher training, and education in general.
