On Monday the 28th of August, with a big sense of excitement Haigazian University welcomed its new and returning students on campus, thus, officially marking the start of the new academic year 2023 – 2024.
Few days before the kickoff, newly enrolled students took part in a thorough full day orientation program, specially designed by the Orientation Program, comprised of a qualified and committed team of faculty, staff and volunteer students, aiming at introducing the new comers to all aspects of university life. This year in particular, the program also included a virtual pre-orientation session.
The Orientation program consists of a series of courses on academic research, advising, studying, University culture, information technology, and self-awareness, along with presentations on the university’s Student and Spiritual life activities.
For its part, the non-teaching staff commenced the year with a retreat, having as tag line the University’s mission and vision.
Various important announcements and concerns were shared, such as the Ministry of Education’s 5-year plan, QS university rankings, Higher Education Capacity Development (HECD) activities, Student Senior Satisfaction Survey, the importance of interdepartmental communication, and the performance evaluation.
The staff got also engaged in a group exercise, covering various matters and concerns, such as, campus improvement, alumni engagement, recognition enhancement, and the upcoming 70th anniversary next academic year.
