Freshman Class

Admission by Official Secondary Certificates: All holders of Official Secondary Certificates recognized by the Lebanese Ministry of Education are eligible to apply for admission to the Freshman class.

Admission for High School Diploma-holders: Diplomas from high schools based on twelve years of schooling and recognized by the Lebanese Ministry of Education are valid for admission to the Freshman class. All applicants to the Freshman class, Lebanese or non-Lebanese, who have followed a foreign program and hold a high school diploma, must obtain from the Equivalence Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Education, an official statement of permission allowing them to pursue higher education. They should also take the SAT or the ACT test. The permission and SAT or ACT tests must be taken prior to enrollment in the Freshman class. A score of 950 in SAT or 17 in ACT is required for Freshman Science. A score of 870 in SAT or 15 in ACT is required for Freshman Arts.

Students who are from a non-accredited high school need to sit for the ACT Subject Tests during their freshman year and obtain the following required scores to be able to receive equivalency for their freshman and continue their university studies:

  • For Freshman Science: a total score of at least 60 in ACT Subject Tests of Mathematics 2; and in 2 additional subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology). Each subject score should be greater than or equal to 17.
  • For Freshman Arts: a total score of at least 51 in ACT Subject Tests of Mathematics 1 and 2 additional elective subjects. Each subject score should be greater than or equal to 15.
