On Saturday the 29th of September, 2018, the Center of Continuing Education (CCE) at Haigazian University celebrated the harvest of thirty graduates from various organizations and educational institutions, who successfully completed the fields of Special Education and School Coordinators and Division Heads in the Teacher Training program, in addition to the fields of Human Resources, and Project Management provided in the Adult Education program. Former Member of Parliament Dr. Bassem Shabb was the guest speaker of this special occasion.

The ceremony started with a processional march of the proud graduates, followed by the national anthem, and the welcoming words of the CCE Office Assistant, Mona Ramadan.

Campus Minister, Rev. Wilbert Van Saane shared with the audience his word of gratitude, emphasizing on the main virtues of knowledge; knowledge as a vocation, as a privilege, as a matter of the heart, and as a gift. In this respect, Van Saane underlined that such deeper learning and investment in knowledge should serve communities and be shared with the underprivileged.

In his remarks, CCE Director, Sebouh Gurunlian highlighted on the unique characteristics of the Center in promoting on-going learning, through providing students with accessible opportunities to update themselves, gain new knowledge, develop personally and enhance their careers.

In his congratulatory remarks, guest speaker, Former Member of Parliament Dr. Bassem Shabb underlined the importance of continuous education, as a cornerstone for personal and career improvement. He further emphasized on the vital role of ongoing learning and training in to preparing individuals adaptable to continuous changes and developments.

In his message, University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian highlighted on the special role Haigazian University carries in its mission of higher education. Talking first about “quality education”, Haidostian referred to “depth of endurance, length of positive impact, and openness to learning and change”. Moving on to the notion of “training”, he stressed on the importance of “focus”, saying “training is future-oriented and should be persistent”. Haidostian concluded his word by putting significant importance on the notion of “work ethic”.

The program concluded with conferring the degrees and a decent reception.
