Between July 28 and August 11, 2023, and over a period of seven days, Haigazian University had the privilege to host the screening of the “Chronicles of Perseverance”, an event organized by “Hnarti”, a cultural platform dedicated to the exploration of the Armenian heritage through a variety of social, artistic & cultural projects and events.
This exceptional cinematic experience was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the resilience of the Armenian people and their unwavering spirit to preserve the Armenian language, culture, traditions and stories, amidst the trials of time.
This curated event featured a selection of thought-provoking films and documentaries that highlighted the exceptional narrative of this ancient people and their dedication to pass down their enduring legacy to the generations to come.
The moving scenes and intimate conversations featured in some of the movies triggered and intensified the cultural bonds, as this marvelous journey of cultural discovery, brilliantly honored the past, celebrated the present, and inspired the future through the captivating world of cinema.
The featured films were: Western Armenia: Lost Motherland (2007) by Hayk Harutyunyan; Urartu: The Forgotten Kingdom (2020) by Armen Grigoryan and Vaga Vardanyan; Memories of Marash: The Legacy of a Lost Armenian Community (2002) by Roger Hagopian; Anjar: Flowers, Goats and Heroes (2009) by Noura Kevorkian; Songs of Solomon (2020) by Arman Nshanian; La Sombra de Ararat (2017) by Migel Angel Nieto and Hugo Herrera; and the Lebanese Rocket Society (2013) by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreije.
The event concluded with the word of appreciation of the Haigazian University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, who highly valued the remarkable initiative of the “Hnarti” platform in preserving the Armenian culture and heritage through cinematographic art. He then presented the organizers with various Haigazian University publications. In their turn, “Hnarti” representatives expressed their deep gratitude for this collaboration by presenting a token of appreciation to the President.
