RISE 2023 Conference

Three Haigazian University faculty members, Dr. Najoie Nasr, Dr. Christine Arzoumanian and Mr. Shant Estepan took part in the “Research with Impact for Society & the Enterprise” (RISE) 2023 conference, which took place at the Saint Joseph University, on November 27 and 28, 2023.

For the 3rd year, the conference organized by the Saint Joseph University in Beirut and NODE – Network of Organizational Development Experts, grouped a lineup of professionals and specialists in the fields of Business, Banking and Human Resources.

Dr. Christine Arzoumanian, from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE), and the coordinator of Human Resources major emphasis, was one of the panelists on the first day. In the panel entitled “Revisiting the reward system in organizations: Employee wellbeing and motivation,” Arzoumanian shared, based on her recent academic research, insights on leadership’s pivotal role, organizational culture, and effective wellbeing initiatives for both SMEs and MNCs.

For her part, Dr. Najoie Nasr, also a faculty member at FBAE, co-chaired the aforementioned panel as well as led another session the second day.

Senior Network Analyst and Instructor in Computer Science, Mr. Shant Estephan, also serving as an organizing committee member of RISE, brought his participation through presenting his research paper on “the Significance of Blended Learning in the University Selection Process of Lebanese Students.” This academic endeavor forms part of Mr. Estepan’s PhD dissertation, jointly co-authored by Dr. Hilda Bairamian.

It is worth noting that 8 HR-majoring students from Haigazian University made a valuable impact by actively engaging in the academic discussions with enthusiasm and thought-provoking questions.
