The book is the proceedings of the conference on the Armenians of the Arab Gulf States, organized by the Armenian Diaspora Research Center and convened at Haigazian University on December 6-7, 2024.
The book is the 7th volume of the proceedings of conferences that have focused on the Armenians of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt-Sudan-Ethiopia, Cyprus-Greece and the Arab Gulf States. The last and the 8th volume on Armenians of Cyprus and Greece is scheduled to be published in 2025.
The volume includes twenty-two research papers presented during the conference. Also, in this volume are an additional four papers on the Armenian school of Kuwait, the Saturday school of Saudi Arabia, a demographic study of the Armenian workforce in Eastern Saudi Arabia, and an Armenian architect in Kuwait.
The appendix includes individual stories, accounts, memoires of and interviews with Armenians who lived in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait or UAE or experienced a part of their lives in the said countries, a number of newspaper clippings/reports on the Armenian community of Kuwait, as well as the by-laws of the Armenian community of Abu Dhabi.
The book ends with a brief biography of the contributors, a summary of the history on the Arab Gulf states, a short overview on the Armenian communities of the Arab Gulf states, a short bibliography, and a list of volumes published by HU Press.
The book is the eighth volume published by the ADRC and the seventh in the series that shed light on the Armenian communities of the Middle East.
