On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Mathematical and Computer Sciences Division at Haigazian University hosted its Sixth Annual Computer Programming Cup for High School Students (PCHSS 2025), attracting 52 talented secondary students from 26 schools across Lebanon.
In the lead-up to the event, participants underwent three weeks of comprehensive training in HTML, Microsoft Access, and Python. The sessions, delivered by faculty member Mr. Shant Estepan in collaboration with students from the Computer Science Society, provided hands-on experience and a deep dive into practical coding techniques and applications.
The closing ceremony celebrated the efforts of all participants, with certificates of participation awarded to everyone. The top three winners received scholarships of 50%, 40%, and 30%, along with smartphones for the finalists, generously sponsored by Jack Gifts Accessories. The ceremony was attended by Haigazian University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, along with faculty members Mr. Shant Estepan and Mr. Ali Moukallid, as well as representatives from the participating schools.
The results came as follows:
• First Prize: Andrew Keumbedjian – Collège Mesrobian des Arméniens Catholiques
• Second Prize: Ali Al-Hadi Naji – Al Kawthar High School
• Third Prize: Roupen Kurdian – Haratch – C. Gulbenkian Secondary School
