On November 5, 2025, The Political Science Society and the Office of Spiritual Life at Haigazian University organized a panel discussion on Christian Humanitarian Work in Lebanon, bringing together leaders from major international organizations.
The event featured Heidi Diedrich, National Director of World Vision Lebanon; Farah Boukheir, Program Coordinator for Lebanon at Tearfund; and Ruba Khoury, Head of Mission – Lebanon at Norwegian Church Aid.
The speakers shared their personal motivations for engaging in faith-based humanitarian service, reflected on the impact of their work, and addressed the ongoing challenges faced in the field.
Ruba Khoury encapsulated the spirit of the discussion, stating, “Our faith means to be next to the people when they need us most.”
The panel drew an engaged audience of students, faculty, and staff, fostering dialogue on the role of faith and compassion in addressing Lebanon’s pressing humanitarian needs.
