Haigazian University and TEDMOB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at the Haigazian University Board Room, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at reinforcing the vital connection between academic education and industry practice. The event was attended by faculty and staff members, current Computer Science major students, and representatives of TEDMOB, reflecting a shared enthusiasm for this forward-looking partnership.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Nadim Hassoun, Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences at Haigazian University, and Mr. Raffi Kestenian, Tech Lead of the iOS Team at TEDMOB, a leading app and web development company recognized among the region’s top digital agencies. An alumnus of Haigazian University’s Computer Science program (Class of 2016), Mr. Kestenian’s presence carried special significance, symbolizing the enduring bond between the University and its graduates who continue to excel in the professional sphere.
In his opening remarks by Mr. Shant Estepan, Lecturer in Computer Science and Coordinator of the Division of Mathematical Sciences, underscored the importance of such an agreement in “aligning two visions and building a strong bridge between academic excellence and real-world innovation.” Estepan’s address highlighted the transformative potential of structured collaboration between higher education and industry leaders in shaping competent, forward-thinking professionals.
For his part, Mr. Kestenian delivered a heartfelt testimonial reflecting on his formative years at Haigazian University. He credited the faculty for the rigorous academic foundation and mentorship that shaped his knowledge and professional expertise. Drawing from his first-hand experience in the technology sector, he offered practical advice to current students on navigating real work environments, cultivating adaptability, and making the most of their university years to build both technical proficiency and professional character.
The Marketing Manager of TEDMOB, Ms. Perla Smath, introduced the company through an insightful presentation that showcased its portfolio, corporate culture, and commitment to innovation. Her overview provided students with a comprehensive understanding of TEDMOB’s dynamic work environment and its role within the regional digital ecosystem.
Through this partnership, both institutions affirm a shared commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the fields of technology and digital solutions, while supporting students in their transition from the classroom to the professional world. The collaboration will open pathways for internships and potential employment opportunities for Haigazian students and graduates, offering them practical, hands-on experience within a dynamic industry environment.
The MoU also provides a platform for meaningful knowledge exchange. TEDMOB representatives may contribute to the University’s academic life through guest lectures, workshops, and conferences, sharing industry insights in areas such as software development, user experience design, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and social technologies. In parallel, the two parties may engage in joint academic and applied research projects addressing technological innovation, data ethics, and cultural adaptation in digital environments.
In addition, the partnership envisions the organization of collaborative events—including hackathons, career days, and specialized seminars—designed to stimulate creativity, encourage entrepreneurial thinking, and strengthen engagement between students and technology professionals.
This agreement reflects a common vision: to cultivate a forward-looking educational ecosystem where theory and practice converge, equipping students with the skills, exposure, and confidence needed to contribute meaningfully to Lebanon’s evolving digital landscape.
