Orientation Day for Newly Enrolled Students

As the academic year 2018 – 2019 kicks off on August 28th , Haigazian University welcomed its new undergraduate students to take part in a thorough orientation program, designed to introduce them to all aspects of university life—academic, social, and spiritual.

Considered as an important “learning experience”, according to the Orientation Program Director, Dr. Berge Traboulsi, this university requirement program provides sessions on relevant topics, such as academics, self-awareness and university counselling, research and library use, IT services and Haigazian culture. These sessions are planned and monitored by a qualified and committed team of faculty and student volunteers.

During the opening session, students had the chance to listen to the University President, deans and campus minister, all of whom advised students to maximize their university life experience through creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and networking.

In his word of welcome, Campus Minister, Rev. Wilbert van Saane, assured students that they will all be treated with a personal approach and attention.

As an alumnus himself, University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, shared some of his experiences as a student, and motivated all new comers to use their full potential during their four-year journey. He also told them to “fix their lenses”, and accordingly “decide and revise on how to look into life”.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Arda Ekmekji, invited students to embrace ethical values in light of the university’s motto, Truth, Freedom, and Service.

Sharing the achievements of few alumni in Lebanon and abroad, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Dr. Fadi Asrawi, stated that Haigazian University will provide them with strong background and foundation to become leaders in their respective domains.
