On Thursday, October 16, Haigazian University hosted a timely and thought-provoking lecture titled “Information Space Security: Good Governance and the Citizenship State in Lebanon.”
Organized by Info OPS Poland and the Civic Influence Hub (CIH), in cooperation with Haigazian University, the event brought together academics, civil society leaders, media representatives, and members of the diplomatic community for an in-depth discussion on Lebanon’s information space, governance, and societal resilience.
Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Ambassador of Poland in Lebanon, Aleksandra Bukowska-McCabe, and via video by Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, President of Haigazian University.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Witold Repetowicz, Dr. Ziad Sayegh, and Dr. Joseph Alagha
Moderated by University Campus Minister, Rev. Wilbert van Saane, the lecture explored, the role of civil society in Lebanon and the evolving concept of citizenship and good governance, the impact of imperialism and colonial narratives in regional dynamics and the psychological resilience and vulnerabilities within Lebanese society.
