BIO
Helene Issa, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and a practicing psychoanalyst whose work bridges academic teaching, clinical practice, and psychoanalytic formation. She holds a PhD in Clinical and Psychopathological Psychology (2004) and has been psychotherapist since 1994.

Dr. Issa has extensive teaching experience, having lectured for over fifteen years at the Military School. Since 2017, she has served as a lecturer and supervisor in psychoanalysis at the Chinese-American Psychoanalytic Association. At the BEING Institute, she maintains a psychoanalytic practice while supervising and training analysts and therapists in formation. She co-founded and chaired the Department of Psychology at the University of Balamand (UOB), and has also taught at the Lebanese University (UL), the Lebanese American University (LAU), and the Psychoanalytic Institute in California.

She also co-founded several professional associations in the field, including the Forum of Psychoanalysis of the Lacanian field in Lebanon and the Syndicate of Psychologists and Psychoanalysts (2008). During the time of War in 2024, she launched the Hear for Frontliners initiative to support healthcare professionals.

A member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists (LOPSY), the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA), and the École de Psychanalyse du Forum du Champ Lacanien (EPFCL) in France.

Dr. Issa remains deeply committed to psychoanalytic thought, clinical ethics, and the formation of future generations of practitioners.
