Dr. Christine Arzoumanian, Assistant Professor and Human Resources Management Emphasis Coordinator in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Haigazian University, presented her research paper and participated at the 3rd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF 2025), held on 10–11 December 2025 at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi.
Organized by Abu Dhabi University under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, ICASF 2025 brought together international scholars and experts under the theme “Shaping the Future: Synergies Between Nature, Technology, and Society” to explore integrative solutions to complex global challenges.
On the first day of the conference, Dr. Arzoumanian presented her research, “Organizational Culture and the Adoption of Wellness Programs: An Ethnographic Study Across Sectors in Lebanon,” reflecting her expertise in human resources management, organizational psychology, and leadership.
The presentation attracted notable interest for its contextual relevance and insights into organizational practices across diverse sectors, including small and medium enterprises, multinational corporations, and international organizations, highlighting how leadership approaches and institutional culture influence the adoption of wellness initiatives.
Her study examined how institutional norms, leadership mindsets, and sector-specific conditions shape the interpretation and implementation of wellness initiatives. Drawing on four years of ethnographic fieldwork, the research highlighted how wellness programs may lead to substantive change, partial adoption, or symbolic implementation within Lebanon’s complex organizational landscape.
Through her contribution at ICASF 2025, Dr. Arzoumanian offered grounded scholarly perspectives on organizational well-being, workplace sustainability, and human resource development, reflecting Haigazian University’s commitment to globally engaged research, knowledge exchange, and academic dialogue.
