Haigazian University (HU) and the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts (LSTA) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Friday, 30 January 2026, at the Haigazian University campus, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in the field of technical analysis and professional financial education in Lebanon.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohamad Abou El Hassan, President of the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts, and Dr. Fadi Asrawi, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Haigazian University, on behalf of the University President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of representatives from the University’s faculty and administration, representatives from the LSTA, and Mr. Ziad Ghattas, CEO of Credit Financier Invest (CFI).
In parallel with the MOU, an addendum was also signed between Dr. Mohamad Abou El Hassan, President of the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts, and Mr. Christopher Kijilian, Supervisor of the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at Haigazian University. The addendum formalizes the delivery of the Foundation of Technical Analysis training course, a 25-hour professional program to be offered by the LSTA in partnership with the CCE at Haigazian University, marking the first concrete training initiative under the LSTA–HU collaboration.
The Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts is a national professional association affiliated with the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). The Society is dedicated to promoting technical analysis in Lebanon through training programs, seminars, information exchange, and professional networking, while also facilitating access to the Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) examination issued by IFTA.
Under the terms of the MOU, Haigazian University and LSTA will collaborate to explore the establishment of the CFTe certification within the University. The partnership also provides for joint preparation and definition—through HU’s Center of Continuing Education (CCE)—of academic and professional courses in technical analysis and related fields, including their organizational and financial frameworks. In addition, Haigazian University will host events, seminars, and meetings organized by the LSTA for its members and HU alumni, focusing on contemporary methods of technical analysis, market evaluation, and emerging analytical approaches.
For its part, the LSTA will work closely with Haigazian University to develop and define the structure and content of specialized training programs in technical analysis, ensuring alignment with international professional standards and local market needs.
This Memorandum of Understanding reflects the shared commitment of Haigazian University and the Lebanese Society of Technical Analysts to advancing financial education, professional certification, and knowledge exchange, thereby contributing to the development of expertise and analytical capacity within Lebanon’s financial and academic communities.
