The Grounds and Facilities mission is to provide a clean, safe, and functional physical environment for all students, faculty, and staff. To fulfill this mission, the department has a total of 20 full-time employees specialized in different areas of facilities management, including carpentry, electrical and metal work, painting, sound system operation, and janitorial services, all contributing to the effective operation and appearance of the campus. In addition, the Facilities department plays an important role in strategic planning, project oversight, and the selection and management of service vendors and contractors to support the University’s operational and long-term facility’s needs. The Director’s office is located on the ground floor of the Philibossian Student Center.
Grounds and Facilities provides A to Z services for all HU events, big or small, on or off campus. The department also assists non-university benevolent and cultural establishments.
Grounds and Facilities has its own general maintenance, metal, and carpentry workshops. It has the capacity to make the campus presentable for occasions within 24 hours. In addition, the department is responsible for providing HU with an efficient backup power supply. Grounds and Facilities also manages yearly contracts with companies that provide professional services such as elevator and fire extinguisher maintenance, HVAC maintenance, generator servicing, electrical engineering, landscaping, pest control, and other specialized facility-related services.
