The Adult Education Program is designed to be accessible to a wide range of adult learners. Most offerings do not require a secondary-school or university degree.
Participants are generally expected to:
- Be at least 20 years of age
- Have an adequate command of the language of instruction in order to participate effectively.
- Where relevant, possess some educational, professional, or practical experience related to the offering.
Admission and participation requirements may vary depending on the diploma program, training course, workshop, or lecture. Some offerings may have additional requirements related to age, language proficiency, educational background, professional role, or relevant experience.
When necessary, the applicant’s readiness to participate may be assessed through a brief interview or other appropriate process.
Specific admission and participation requirements are communicated when each offering is announced.
Policy Statement
Classes in the Adult Education Program are open to all individuals who fulfill the stated requirements. No person shall be excluded on the basis of religion, sex, race, or ethnicity.
Additional Requirements: Diploma in Leadership and Management Development
Applicants to the Diploma in Leadership and Management Development should:
- Generally be at least 20 years of age.
- Have an adequate command of English to follow instruction, participate in discussions, and complete applied activities.
- Normally have at least one year of relevant professional or equivalent practical experience. This may include employment, internships, entrepreneurship, family-business involvement, volunteering, project work, or sustained responsibility within a team or organization.
- Have basic digital literacy and access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, and the applications required for online participation.
- Be prepared to engage actively in practical exercises, discussions, workplace cases, and collaborative learning.
Applicants with less experience may still be considered where they demonstrate sufficient readiness and a clear ability to benefit from the program.
A university degree and a current management title are not required.
Participants enrolling in Data-Driven Decision Making must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and access to a laptop with Microsoft Excel 2019 or later.
Participants pursuing the full diploma should also be prepared to work collaboratively in a group and complete the applied capstone project after finishing all 16 modules.
Where necessary, the CCE may conduct a brief discussion with an applicant to assess readiness and guide the applicant toward the most appropriate enrollment pathway.
